We can also see HQ-10 (the domestic version of FL-3000N) on the non-hangar platform and some other sensors/satcom equipment on it.

I thought FL-3000N is a chinese version of something similar to RIM-116 RAM and that HQ-10 refers to chinese version of S-300, or is there some other weapon system also designated HQ-10.

I don't think there is enough room on the corvette for mid range air defence. It's likely that the FL-3000N is all it has by the looks of it.

FL-3000N = HQ-10, apparently (there hasn't been any official designation of the HQ-10 number yet). Might wanna read tphuang's post again :p

Re: PLAN Littoral Combat Ships

Interesting.

Could this be the 1,500 ton class vessels that was recently talked about? The lack of a hangar and the relatively simple weapons and sensor package would make this a OPV type of vessel intended for EEZ patrols.

yes, but she also go for export, and the source speculate 056 sould be 1800ton - 2000ton, becaurse it will come with 2 16PA6STC diesel engine.

Where is it going to get the 100 or so engines needed for this production run? I have not seen them fully capable of locally producing that french engine. That was part of the limiting factor for 054a and why it had to wait for a couple of years browse second batch started. The engine used must be something that they can locally build at high volumes.

As for displacement, nobody knows. I would just say to not over estimate plan ships in size.

I c. Is HQ-10 the designation of the actual missiles that fit inside the FL-3000N or the whole system.

I read it somewhere else tha chinese version of the S-300MPU is sometimes also referred to as HQ-10

I think missilethreat.com and wikipedia label the HQ-10 as a chinese produced S-300PMU, but they're (unsurprisngly) not too reliable on PLA weapon systems.

I think missilethreat designation is really wrong. HQ-10 seems to be the designation for FL-3000N. It's like how HQ-16 was talked about as the designation for the missile on 054A and it turned out to be true.

From the picture above, how is this baby compared to the Turkish MilGem or the Russian Steregushchiy class ?

It's cheaper & likely to overwhelm any components in sheer quantity. :p

What I mean is it's too early to compare since all we see is just a model, the real deal could by different, likewise there might be a variety of configurations for this ship class.
