I'm surprised that they didn't post news of this visit anywhere. Now, only 052C, 054A and 051C have not visited other countries making port calls.

Which is also the 3 most advanced class of surface warships in PLAN inventory, maybe they just don't want to show it yet, just like Japan didn't bring thier Aegis class ships to visit China.

well, that is the reason, but I'm just surprised the port call by 054 and Sovs haven't made any news anywhere.
Alright, more photos from HP shipyard of 054A+ and 022s.

Have JMSDF Kongo/Atago-class ships visited other countries, though? I don't think many countries would trust China with visits from its highest-tech ships. Aren't there any countries China trusts?

This looks like the most important shot. Does this indicate what kind arrangement of VLS we're going to see? From the width it looks like the same numbers of cells across (4). We don't know how many cells along though from this shot (8 or more than that).

It is NOT only a matter of trust. Most nations don't have hi-tech navies. Most nations use their navies for local purposes, not worldwide functions. Most nations do not send their naval ships around the world on a regular schedule. Hi-tech navies are mostly found in America, Europe, Russia, South Korea, China, and Japan. China's modern navy is very young and so are China's worldwide economic and political relations.

Even then, what are the pros and cons of China sending naval ships to visit other nations compared to China developing direct political and economic tires with other nations? That is a question for China's and other nations' leaders.

Then there are international politics mixing with the military. Singapore was recently allowed by France to send its advanced, French-made destroyer to visit China, but Singapore is NOT allowed by America to send its American-made jets to China. If you ask me, South Korea is more concerned with Japan than China, but America insists that South Korea acts nice to Japan and defends itself against China.

Then there are different degrees of trust. America sends its military to many nations and conducts military training with many nations, but America has different levels of trust with each nation it trains with and vice versa.

Many times, international visits and training are more about mitigating problems than cultivating trust. When America visits and trains with Russia (which is rare), it is for easing the political tensions between the two nations and creating agreements to avoid destructive misunderstandings, and not about building a military friendship or alliance.

I can go on and on, but the moderators will probably warm me for going off-topic, so I'll stop here.

Vladivostok is the home of the Russian and ex. Soviet Pacific Fleet. One of the Slavas and Kirovs should be there. Its not very far from China, probably had a Chinese or Manchu name once under the old Qing Dynasty maps.

It would be nice to go visit the European side of Russia, though that would mean a lot of other port calls in the way.

Various AEGIS ships have visited China, mainly from S. Korea and the US. That includes a Burke making a port call right at Shanghai, which is also the HQ for the PLAN's ESF fleet. If you remember there is a photograph of the Burke going in one direction and a 054A going the other on the same river. The Takanami that visited the PLAN's SSF base isn't an AEGIS but a pretty high tech one on its own right. That class of ship actually uses an AESA. At that time the Takanami made its visit, the base had the 071 LPD, the 167 Shenzhen and two 054As.

On the two 022s, I think they're probably all new? So at least two from this shipyard and four from Changxing shipyard based on the photos with the alleged new "carrier".

Why wouldn't many countries trust China with a visit of its highest-tech ships? I don't see any reason.
I understand why China is reluctant to show it's ship because China are the weaker part in the grand geopolitical map, and the weaker one need it's element of surprise and thus the need to keep it more secret.
Japan is just been small cuz China didn't send PLAN's best ship to visit Japan, so their don't want to send thiers either, so much for trust, trust are something that need to be built up with time, and China are new here.

The Takanami class destroyers are very new and powerful warship in its own right; its a very capable ASW warship. As stated before; the OPS-24 radar as fitted on the destroyer is the first AESA radar to be fitted on a warship.
