Which ship is this? A number of 054A have local modifications. These things on the mast appeared on #542 before, but these things appeared around the funnel mast with the Type 364 radar, not on the main mast. Note that #542 is a newer ship, it has these caps on top of the SJW-321 (Type 726-1) ESM units on the main mast that older ships don't have, and a changed SATCOM dome design on the back.

It's one of the earliest 054A units.

Might have a possible connection to this antenna on the 052D and other destroyers. The 051B refit has this too.

Note the bottom row of elements.

And the elements are here, are similar. They might be upgrading the 054A to use a communication protocol previously only used with the destroyers. However the system used on 529 might be an earlier test version while the one on 542 might have been the final definitive version. I don't have a proper length reference to determine the frequency length and the true length of the dipoles is hidden inside each enclosure.

That should be the first 054AP, which is being built in a dock shared with building 056As, the bow of one you can see in the picture.

The second 054AP should be built in the dock where the second 075 currently is. Either next to it, or in the same place where the second 075 is right now. Once the second 075 is launched, the modules for the 054AP should be craned and moved into the dock.

Both docks can hold another 054AP I can imagine in addition to the ones they are building now, so the third and fourth 054AP can be built in both docks respectively adjacent to the first two 054AP.

After that, HDZ should be working on Thailand's 071E, and hopefully, 054B or another 075 on the bigger dock. Probably building these ships adjacent to each other on these two docks.

They build the ships quick so they can free the dock. Plenty of space along the Huangpu River to fit the ships, although HDZ needs to clear all the remaining brand new 056As they are fitting right now.

Been wondering so anyone care to confirm this, please: does this 054AP deal cover helicopters or NOT?
-- as asif iqbal must be so concerned... (all right, I'm joking. Just can NOT resist it. ;) )

Since we didn't hear anything, should be NO (like F22P). In that case, any clue what chopper Pakistan may put on it (054AP)?
