Because the rules are any thread untouched more than six months you have to start a new one.

So when are we going to see first real standoff missile from China? It's odd how PLAAF doesn't seem to have any interested towards such weapons. J-10 would become more versatile (being able to launch missiles) and no doubt wider range of weapons could help to boost fighter sales.

Uhh they have had stand off weapons since years ago. KD-88 for JH-7s with KD-63 and CJ-10K for H-6s.

J-10s aren't typically armed with standoff munitions, that job goes to JH-7s

They've also had various Russian stand off weapons for their MKKs and MK2s

KD-88: Anti-ship missile used to target land based threats.

KD-63: Same problem as with above missile.

CJ-10K: Seems to be too cumbersome for a fighter like J-10 to carry.

Compare those two first missiles to a Storm Shadow or KEPD 350. You can see difference between purpose build standoff missile and modified anti-ship missile.

I think KD-88 is its own project. It's performance has satisifed PLAAF, so I'm not sure why it can't use anti-ship missile technology.

There is always CM-400AKG and other future stand-off missiles. This really isn't an area of PLAAF to be concerned about.

KD-88 is developed from the YJ-82 anti ship missile but modified with a variety of seekers for land attack. Think of KD-88 as SLAM , which was developed from harpoon. KD-63 also has an EO seeker for land attack. Anti ship missiles usually have ARH seekers. EO, GPS, or anti radiation seekers are typically for land attack, which are seekers KD-88 can be equipped with.
And as I said, J-10 currently isn't used as a standoff munition hauler. That job goes to JH-7As, which commonly carries KD-88s
