5th gens are way more radar reduced than they are IR reduced; note the various pictures of the IR-reduced F-22 and how they're obviously still visible. As I've mentioned elsewhere, one of the biggest advantages of VLO / LO is that you can stop a RF missile seeker from working until extremely close ranges. The missile will have to be data-linked until nearly the end. IR, since IR suppression is less effective, can go into autonomous mode far sooner.

Considering its size (166mm diameter) advantage over other WVR missiles, and its shape (only one set of fins, fairly small ones; as well as a more pointy nose than usual) ASRAAM is likely to have greater range than 25 km. Its makers do like to mention its speed is higher than other WVR missiles', too. So while 50 km may be an overstatement against certain aircraft, something to the tune of 40ish km should be doable. Mica, for example, while being 20 cm longer than ASRAAM, has slightly smaller diameter and more cluttered aerodynamics, and is regularly credited with 60+ km range.

First bomb seems unguided... the second is actually a Kh-29T AGM.
It's an aerodynamic training substitute 挂飞训练弹 AKA a literal dumb mass without guidance or explosives. The real thing is laser guided.

The Kh-29 is a guidance training round 指导训练弹 with the full sensor suite. The R-27 is like the laser bomb, just an aerodynamic simulator.

Absolutely true about the Kh-29T and R-27, but the bomb isn't very representative of a guided munition without at least an aerodynamic dummy of the seeker system and control surfaces, is it? It very likely is a mass/aero dummy, but not of a guided (laser or otherwise) bomb.

It's literally got "K/YJG500-XL-2 laser-guided bomb flying training round" printed on the side. K/YJG500-XL-2 激光制导炸弹挂飞训练弹.

The seeker section is in the nose which would normally be transparent were it not a pure aerodynamic simulator. The control surfaces are probably the small fins between the concentric rings and would normally be movable but since this is a pure aerodynamic simulator, they're welded in place just like the fins of the R-27 dummy.

I could see a transparent seeker dome (though gimbaled laser spot trackers are very compact and don't require such a huge diameter), but none of the fins seem to work as control surfaces even at second glance. Bear in mind that the bomb body appears to end behind the SRAAM canard, so where do the actuators go?

From that, it looks like a classic free-fall bomb carried internally by the H-6K (

). But it is possible that this traning round is just a place holder or with the guidance kit and the seeker removed.

Come to think of it, it looks like the seeker section of an LT-3 -

GB-1, a new generation of 500 kg laser guided bomb designed by NORINCO, has entered service with the Chinese Navy. Here is the 5th Air Brigade of the Northern Fleet, which is equipped with the JH-7A bomber fighter.
