The new fighter is most likely based on but not the FC-31 so its like the F-35 (first flight 2006) and the X-35 (first flight 2000)
Agreed, btw in April 施佬 (shilao, who's quite close to yankeesama generally speaking a credible guy) mentions that the relation between the current FC-31 and the 4th gen naval fighter is likely comparable to the relation between YF-17 and F-18... this should explain to some degree what the new fighter would be like

Tanks for this piece of information, but how does this fit to earlier reports from April/May (?) about a true J-35-prototype being spotted at SAC?
Was this more likely is misinterpretation with the painted aircraft '31003' or is there something true behind such stories?

I don't actually know about the incident... AFIAK there's no credible information on J-35 prototype atm, the most interesting sighting of FC-31 prototypes would be a pic taken in XI'AN in early May (if my memories are correct). IMG_2868(20200606-030028).JPGMy speculation: a FC-31 prototype, most likely 31003, has recently flown to XI'AN's Yan Liang testing facilities for test flights, but I cant be sure what this means

p.s. judging from yesterday's article from the Chinese Aeronautical Establishment (as of now the article has been deleted, which could either mean it's bullshit or it leaked too much info) I'd say that most likely the SAC has not finished building their 4th gen carrier fighter prototype (not FC31, the real thing)

Love its purity, seems as though the Chinese went all out for a stealth-optimized light/medium fighter. Couldn't care less about the maneuverability, but if this baby can hit -60 dBsm...

Not sure if correct or even important and even less how reliable: But any idea what they are talking about?

Sounds like some sort of "A key new aircraft, 611"??

Reading the screenshot snippet it sounds like whatever important new plane it was involved some kind of high speed networked flight control system, so my guess is this is probably a UAV.

If I'm reading this right, the article is about Mr. Zhao from Chengdu receiving a commendation for his work on a networked management system (?) for an important new aircraft. Specifically, an extensive high-speed communications network (?) encompassing flight control, avionics, and mission control (?) within the overal safety-critical system (?).

A verbose but vague description. I concur with @latenlazy. This sounds like a communications infrastructure for UCAVs.

Again something strange .. Anyone with idea what's this??
Posted by LKJ86/PDF in the "China Civil Aviation" section, but IMO looks more like an UCAV than a civil project?
:what:

China civil looks more like UCAV.jpg
