Having a gunport means it's intended to have a gun. If it's not a dogfighter, what do you propose it do when confronted by an enemy stealth fighter where BVR is useless?

What about it makes it look that way to you?

Getting the full VLO treatment essentially means the thing has to be redesigned top to bottom. Before being a beast of an anything, it should get this fixed

Why should China do this free advertisement for Russia? What's in it for China beyond getting a 5th gen in name only fighter that's going to be problematic synching with the rest of the fleet?

What's the Su-35 been doing beyond getting its teeth punched down its throat in Chinese DACT exercises?

India is geostrategically irrelevant and a second spent thinking about what it will do in the present or future is a second wasted.
Sorry to sound stupid. But whats a VLO treatment and DACT exercises?

Any idea, what type is being co-developed from SAC & CAC??
There's speculation on Chinese forums that this is related to the recent batch of J-10C that uses WS-10B engines, with the line of thinking being SAC had far more experience in dealing with WS-10s and the team was sent to help with possible problems that CAC encountered with some of the jets. No concrete evidence is given with this theory however

Chinese Air Force has just issued a new draft guideline on aircraft paint and marking schemes. It aims to finally standardize markings and paint schemes to achieve low-visibility. All newly produced aircraft are to switch to the new system first, with in-service aircraft repainted in phases.

Air Force issued "Air Force Aircraft Painting and Marking Spraying Provisions (Trial)

The People's Liberation Army News Zou Zhaoxia and Duan Jun reported: In order to further focus on actual combat and matchmaking, according to the relevant provisions of the Military Commission, the Air Force has recently issued the "Air Force Aircraft Painting and Logo Spraying Provisions (Trial)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Provisions").

It is reported that the low visibility of aircraft painting and marking in the air is a practical requirement and development trend, and the main purpose is to reduce the probability of visual discovery. The newly issued "Regulations" fully implements the requirement that "painting is also combat effectiveness." In accordance with the principle of "uniformity, standardization, low visibility, and operability," clear requirements have been set for the painting and marking of Air Force aircraft.

The "Draft" drafting team analyzed in-depth domestic and foreign Air Force aircraft painting and marking cases, fully drawing on the opinions of all parties, and ensuring that the "Strict" is scientific, targeted and operable. The "Regulations" are in line with the actual development and construction of Air Force equipment in the current and future periods, and will play an important role in strengthening Air Force aircraft painting and marking management and adapting to actual combat mission requirements.

The "Regulations" have a total of 5 chapters and 16 articles, which clearly require new production combat aircraft to implement low-visibility coating, uniform marking of active service and old aircraft spraying; standardize national flags, "Chinese Air Force", "Red Cross" and other special mission markings and spraying requirements. Since 2020, the "Provisions" have been promoted and implemented in accordance with the thinking of "integrated planning, step-by-step implementation, easy first, then difficult, and progressive advancement."

I'm guessing that the low-vis coating is similar to if not exactly the same as the one seen on a few J-16s. If so, it'll be great to see the J-10C and J-15 in those colors.

I would think that the low visibility paint would include a new job on the radome, featuring gray color.

Really? One of the J-11Bs suspected to have upgraded its radar/avionics had white radome. If that is anything to go by I think for J-11s at least they won't switch to grey coloration radome.
