Btw. Can Su-27SK/ J11A use RVV-AE/R-77?

Yes. They were modified as such. Not all the Su-27SK, the first batch didn't. But subsequent batches are, I believe with the Su-27UBK first. All the J-11A were.

The original export radar was N001E, E for export. This went to the earliest batch. From then on the radar is the N001VE, V should stand for being R-77, which in export wise is referred to as RVV-AE. Others say V stands for an enhanced digital signal processor and CPU being used to support the R-77.

Su-30MKK uses N001VEP, which added Kh-31P support, Kh-59 and TV guided bombs, and Su-30MK2 is said to be using another version of N001VEP which added Kh-31A.

PBB-AE means RVV-AE which means R-77AE. So that definitely is R-77 support. The problem during that time was that the R-77 was not fully developed, tested and operational yet. So the planes were delivered without them and had to operate without them for years. The ensuing photographs could lead and suggest to people the planes are not R-77 capable because you don't see them carrying them around. This is a clear case of absence of evidence is taken as evidence of absence. Turns out it's not. Russia did eventually deliver the promised R-77s. Took them a while but they did. Except by then China is already in its advanced development of the PL-12 and has already begun testing and incorporating them into other planes like the J-10, making the R-77 deliveries rather fluous. Its just one more example of the Chinese eventually exhausting their patience with the Russian arms industry.
