Did we ever get confirmation that it was even for a specific drone concept?

To my understanding it was "only" an air tunnel model.


Of course, the geometry and planform of the model could lend itself very well to a drone concept or indeed a next generation fighter.

more of the pictures; I must say that when I saw it first the first thing I considered was that its planform was appropriate for a potential 6th generation fighter












I doubt that particular wind tunnel model is explicitly linked to any programme yet but more likely related to initial pre research for high speed flying wing aircraft... applications which range of course from fighter aircraft to UAVs/UCAVs.

Looking at its geometry which is best shown in that first picture, it is clearly a high speed flying wing of sorts (which the last picture even explicitly describes).







The configuration is consistent with the "generic 6th gen" planform thrown around for PR purposes from various defense entities ranging from northrop to AVIC. Now, whether real 6th gen fighters will resemble those PR depictions we've seen is debatable, but I imagine high speed tailless flying wings is one of the most investigated concepts being looked at by everyone.
