My friend in Xiamen said that in China, the government recommended civilians to stock up on food just today. I don't know how reliable that is but the timing with all this troop movement in the same province is spooky.

Anyone else in China get a similar message?
I read about this on r/prepper today and figured it was just western MSM propoganda...
if true, maybe something big is coming.... epic solar flare, hot kinetic war over taiwan, another pandemic, etc etc
something doesn't smell right, i was hoping to get to go on end of year vacation guess that might not even happen

Literally, nothing is gonna happen. Everything that has happened is too small to be anything but an exercise. Like others have said, it's winter season soon. Just prepare for that.

Joke aside, I can guess that they are "air defense" unit from "Fang Kong", but I can not figure out what does "U" stands for. U as a vowel is not an initial of any word in Pin Yin. A word with such vowel can be many things. Also the 2nd guy from the right does not have "U".
U = Unit ?

U, should be 旅 or Brigade. 83FKU, it is the 83rd Air Defense Brigade of the 83rd Group Army. 旅 is Lv, but they often use U, instead of using Lv.
In my post I said "why one of the soldier in the unit is not in the "unit"?". By that I was talking about one of the soldiers (2nd from the right) having "83FK" without U even though he is in the same team.

Also, every Latin letter based language use initial letter for abbreviation, Ping Yin uses the same rule, otherwise, lot of confusion would come.

Anyway, it is nothing of importance.

If you are wondering why use FKU instead of FKL: L is used by another type of unit.
P, L, Y, T, U, S, J.

I know sorta unrelated to PLA but someone apparently found some Jaguar tanks that had not been photographed for decades. This tank was a joint development between US and China back in the 80's. The program was never finished due to political fallout but I'm sure this had tons of influence on future Chinese designs.
