A concept study on 'unmanned' platoons using UCAVs and UCGVs. The advantages of unmanned platoons are greater independent operations capabilities, greater sustained combat power, greater command and control, greater recon and intel gathering, greater firepower, and less psychological impact on soldiers. Basically, putting less men in danger or under stress makes everything better.

A conceptual composition of an unmanned platoon. All assets in the image are unmanned. From left to right: one command vehicle, one repair/recovery vehicle, two fighting vehicles; Eight UAVs that combine both recon and attack functions; Two fire support vehicles. All vehicles and UAVs can communicate with each other.

The combined operations: human operators stay in the rear, UAVs perform cooperative recon as well as cooperative attack, and ground unmanned vehicles bring more concentrated firepower to targets that require it, with targeting information being fed real-time by UAVs.

The new measures – framed by a trial launched by the country's defence procurement agency – are aimed at easing the administrative burden on private sector firms, and stimulating greater competition in China's defence technology industrial base (DTIB)

From the official Chinese military procurement website: a request for conceptual designs of a future mobile land combat platform. This is a general call for design concepts and ideas, and no prototypes will be built. More of an exploration of ideas.

How tall is that guy in black, and why is he the only dude wearing mask?

Some mystery instructor?
The full video is here
The guy in black is an external instructor. I guess he is from one of the special forces, Army, Navy or PAP all of them have black uniforms. That also explains why he is taller than average soldiers because of the stricter selection. Note, the other soldiers being trained are soldiers of an regular brigade.

The guy is apparently more than 10cm taller than the rest, so if we take the average height of soldiers at 1.72m, the guy would be at least 1.82m. I'd guess he is around 1.85m.
