I was referring to that idea of the Chinese using a T-72 during the Tank Biathlon. For the exercise, the Chinese checking out the T-72 makes sense since it would allow better cooperation between the Russians and Chinese. However, for the biathlon, it's pretty strange.

Two of the leading theories are:

1) Russians won't allow it next year. Proof being that China used Russian APCs for this year's Army Games.
2) PLA doesn't want to showcase the Type-96 series any more.

I see. Theory 1 makes the Russians look, well, extremely petty, and Theory 2 is just strange unless the Chinese either believe it is not worth the effort to transport their equipment anymore or have a lack of confidence in their equipment (which I extremely doubt).

An interesting piece of history. At one point, China was researching stealth artillery rounds that can evade X-band radars used for counter-battery fire. The effort was abandoned after the research team concluded that the special stealth shaping would severely reduce projectile accuracy, range, and payload capacity when fired from existing artillery designs. Nonetheless, the prototype projectile reduced radar detection range by 86%. It's interesting to note that in addition to the special shaping, a layer of radar-absorbent coating was also applied.

In the early autumn, a brigade of the 72nd Army organized a drill of actual explosive lessons for the engineers. The exercise highlighted projects such as engineer break-through and artillery strikes, enhanced the professional combat methods of the engineers, and laid a solid foundation for multi-arm cooperative training in the future.
