I'm fairly sure it is. I can't remember the link of the video is but I definitely remember watching footage of the PLA testing ATGMs on moving Type 59s, presumably remote-controlled like the Type 62 above.

The US and a few other nations have done this modifying old tank chassis to serve as mine clearing robots. Note however although the tank can be driven by remote the weapons generally cannot without extensive modification.

Most likely because most older tanks do not have autoloaders. At any rate a remotely piloted ‘old’ tank would be easily disabled since the situational awareness is not there. It would be extremely difficult if not impossible to drive, shoot and command from a remote station with just a couple of monitors and static cameras feeds.
An actual remote fighting tank or vehicle would have to be exclusively designed from the ground up for it to be semi effective.
