CCTV7 program on PAP Special Warfare training, includes footage of flying 3D printed drones for recon and potential kamikaze attack, as well as using anti-drone EW guns to disable enemy drones. Apparently the DJI model used as a target returns to its original release point when it loses communication with the controller? Would expose the operator's position if they don't respond fast and relocate. Also includes training footage with a shotgun, crossbow, sniper rifle, and MANPADS.

I think this would be a feature that future anti-drone operations would use. I can see it being fairly straightforward to design an anti commercial UAV drone that flies at commercial UAVs, and selectively jams its operating frequency such that command link to the operator is disabled but GPS is not. Add in a tiny bit of hacking code to enable the return home feature even if disabled to add additional utility.

This would prompt the commercial drone to return to launch position, meaning if your anti-drone drone simply follows the commercial drone, you will have the rough location of the enemy drone operator. A little explosive payload on your drone and bye bye enemy drone operator. Far more effective than just trying to take out enemy drones.

I hope so. Seeing all the videos of advance plaaf aircrafts firing unguided rockets somethings make me doubt things though...
Wasn't there a podcast early this year that mentioned this? It was mentioned the unguided rockets are only for show and they rarely show any of the guided missiles or more advanced weapons to the public. I'm not sure where this distrust is coming from, while there have been fuck ups and sometimes questionable actions specifically the Wuhan government's early action and Shanghai, the Chinese people have done more than enough to prove they are more than competent in handling extreme changes. I wouldn't let some screw-ups every now and then cover up the mostly good track record.
