Nice to see Xi wearing the Type-21 uniform, as well as the Command staff. Looks like the new uniforms are entering full adoption in earnest.

Although I've noted that even some of the senior staff's uniforms were not regulation-compliant when their zipper straps were not tucked underneath the flap at the collar level.

i find it perplexing that the PLA would opt for something like this over just NVG, which they are severely short of.

NVG doesn't work when insufficient external light source (eg. moonless night or overcast), thermal imaging can though.

That reminds me the Top Gear show I watched a few years back, back then the British Army in Afghanistan already have similar system.

Some civilian cars are already equipped with thermal imaging

Thermal can’t see through glass. That’s why unless you are riding in a cross country buggy with no windshield, you cannot drive with thermal goggles.

The setup they have is the most suitable for thermal driving aims.

I have done a couple pretty cool things in sports so I am confident I am not lame. But this is beyond me. I can't handle earth worms.
