Kind of funny, so many pictures available now, but only more questions.
If the CS/LR17 style launcher is adopted, it would almost guarantee that the hand guard needs to be swapped since the additional mounting points of CS/LR17 don't exist on the new rifle. That means whatever controls were in the foregrip need to be swapped in some alternate way, since there are pictures with no foregrip, that must have been considered. Could also mean that whatever "smart gear" is needed for a QTS-11 type launcher could be swapped in.

Although I think we are getting ahead of ourselves. PLA has always been a little stingy. Such a system would be very expensive. I think the comparison between CS/LR17 and new rifle was already made before, and some of the changes look cost driven (simpler mountings points, plastic handguard and magazine vs. metal).

The grip is part of the package of systems not totally tied to the weapon. Presumably other weapons could get said grip. It’s similar to concepts and other systems that have emerged from time to time. Heck I remember reading how one of the Rangers in the Blackhawk down battle has rigged his radio to his M16A2. That’s one of the functions that seems to be on the grip.

that is one piece of tech that I think has the least barring on what we are talking about here.
We know that the new rifle was seen with conventional optical gun sights and night vision systems as such the eye tracking element doesn’t seem to operate as some form of auto firing system but more likely part of the digital command system, if even. As we didn’t see it in the parade, but in video. It seems like that was more of a work in progress or training aide down the line.
In the video talking about the smart gear's R&D, the eye tracking device used is not part of the gear set, but a part of the UI development kit, to check where'd the user(soldier) most focus on when operating the touch-screen terminal, thus to place the most frequently used application to the more instinctively reached-for position on-screen. Logical, as it ain't like this type of stuff is personally customisable.

At least in this iteration, it's not likely they're introducing bleeding edge UI like smart eyeglass and stuff.

That is an interesting solution to the issue of having excess light entering the fibre optic, definitely a bit more elegant than covering it with duct tape. I wonder if that's why they went for a circular shaped fibre optic.

Also the attachment for that particular optic in the photo doesn't seem to be picatinny, but rather a quick release of some kind. The geometry of it looks like it could have been intended for the QBZ95 carry handle propriety point.

This solution would allow adjustment of brightness if need be, using duct tape would make it one-shot deal, instead of adjustment as needed.

As for the mount, it is indeed for the type of mount now the QBZ-95 is using, you can compare with the screen captures on page 26 of this thread to see the obvious difference in mounts - those for picatinny rail use a wing-nut type fastener to offer tool-free installation.
