Official Launch of Chinese Economy Today Forum

Tonights the night!!!

Wednesday 1st of March 2006 is the official launch day for Chinese Economy Today, a new Forum/Bulletin Board dedicated to doing business, travelling to China and watching China’s development in general.

This is the first step of a larger project “China Today Net” jointly owned and operated by Dongfeng and Myself. We are also pleased to announce that SDF’s very own Gollevainen has agreed to provide his experienced moderating services to help ensure the smooth running of the new site.

You are all welcome to come and join in, but remember this is an Adult Site for people looking to do deals with their Chinese Counterparts, so any overtly Political posts that may jeopardise the access of the site in China, will produce a swift response and reprimand.

No Membership is free, just like here in SDF. Only advertisers have to pay, thats why you see rates.

Nice forum, are you the one who started it, and what dongfeng have to do with that forum.

No offence, but there are too few members, you should put the link to more chinese forum so more people could join.

I am kind of involved with too many forums already, but I guess there are no harm done to join one more.

Chinese Economy Today is a joint venture between Dongfeng and myself, we have developed the site together.

I hope you do join I think you will enjoy it tremendously. Yes membership is currently low, we only opened it to the public an hour ago.

just a comment, the button on top right hand corner is hard to see for me.. hidden by the pic of the train. don't know if that's a problem for you. and the sign in/register link is kinda blocked by the pic of shanghai for me too

i'm going to sign up and boost membership.

i really like the warning thing under the member name... it gives a constant reminder of fear of admins .. wonder if we can do that for SDF

Just a quick to word to everybody though:

Not everything in Chinese Economy Today is supposed to be dry, technical and formal - even if the reference material may seem to make it looka s though it is.

Just as important as facts are impressions and feelings, so if any of you guys have holidayed in China in the last year or two and want to share the experience (along with any non compromising photographes) then please feel free to post in the appropriate regional forum.

Remember, part of CET's remit is to give a home to topics ( providing they do not breach forum guidlines) that sit uncomfortably in SDF, so moving them to CET will be doing the Admins and Mods in both forums a big favour.

I look forward to continuing my discussions with you all in this forum and to you joining me in new ones in CET.

The only problem i see is that the "register" button is partially hidden by the banner I suggest lowering it next patch. Other then that I shall meet you all in there.

Also the time zone drop down box doesn't work right.
