Latest image of a Nigerian VT-4 with battle damage during Operation Tura Takai Bango. The tank is missing some of its side skirts. The frontal mud guard is severely deformed, possibly from an explosion. View attachment 69959
I guess the lost of one side skirt might be during off-road maneuver that the side skirt be drawn into the track and teared off. Further, the mud guard deform might caused by a crash rather explosion. Maybe they use the tank to push into some building, just my guess.
Another image of Nigerian VT-4. Supposedly they are very happy with two features:
1) Nigh vision capabilities, which are way superior to those of the T-72/Vickers MKIII. Nigerian soldiers are comfortable operating in hostile environments at night.
2) Remote weapons station, which protects soldiers from enemy gunfire when they are battling insurgents in a village.
