It'll ultimately be a self-defeating practice, as people will come to regard any blurred image as CG until proven genuine - thus denying the author the recognition he was after.

Could be PLA disinformation campaign, meant to de-legitimize legitimate pics by throwing the suggestion that other pics, that are legitimate, might be CG or PS. Old trick in the book that goes back for a long time.

no, XAC say airframe is 'clean sheet design'. but could be based on MA700 frame which is new build (ie but different tail config)

Doesn't the MA700 use North American engines? I wonder which engines this version will use.

Agreed! It’s a self-protection measure so that the poster won’t get caught by the authority for leaking sensitive information. The risk/danger is real. Just use me as the example. Two of my Weibo accounts were suspended for “leaking national secrets”. I didn’t physically drink the tea only because I live outside China. In this case, my feeling is there is a greater (>50%) chance that this blurred image is real.

I must admit I already had the same "feeling" as if the claim "this is only a blurred CG" could be an attempt to avoid any serious consequences as long as the image is blurred enough.

I think same engine as Y-7 or 7-9
MA700 supposed to fit P&WC PW100C but Canada government has still not approves export. KJ-600 supposed to use WJ-6C but these don't match power numbers of Allison T56 on E-2. PW100C very similar numbers... (Janes)

WJ-6C and T-56-427 are in the same category.

Y-9's WJ-6Cs are rated at 5100 hp from memory.
The T-56-427 is rated at 5250 hp.

KJ-600 should be using WJ-6C or a close derivative.

In any case it certainly isn't using PW100C or any other engine from a western nation.

I guess we won't know T-O weight compared to E-2? Janes say T-56-427A for JASDF E-2D is 5820 shp

I think like T56 the WJ-6 is very proven design flying on many aircraft
