how can you tell a CG rendering of an original that has not yet been clearly seen is accurate?
There is precedent. There were CGs of J-20 floating around internet before the first close up photo of J20 showed up in this forum. Those CGs were very accurate. Just someone who live in XAC complex memorizing what he/she saw and do a good CG work would be enough.

P.S. I am confirming this particular CG but only saying it should not be dismissed as easily as trusted.

The so called modern technology is really just corner cutting, not advancement in capability. Radar’s resolution And range depends on aperture. Without a rotor dome, conformal array can only present large aperture towards either side of the aircraft, with minimum or no aperture towards the front and rear.

an AWAC without a rotor dome can only function where threat direction is Singular and clear, So aircraft can keep it abeam. It can not maintain continuous converge even of that direction without having to periodically break off in order to turn around to maintain its pattern.

where is the Large aperture all round coverage radar that makes an AWAC an AWAC?

without that it is just a slow fighter that totally can‘t fight.

With present day data-link technology, the boundaries between AWAC and AEW is diminishing quickly.
Both NATO and the US are considering to eventually retire the E-3 and have no future plans for replacements.
Instead they are considering a swarm of unmanned drones and consolidate the data at ground center then send back the collected data to other assets in the sky.
