Joplin Tornado-the destructive power of nature

Thought some forum members would be interested in some of the unbelievable pictures coming from the horrible tornadoes in the US, particularly Joplin, Missouri.

Here's one demonstrating the horriffic power of the wind:

Here are a few others of the destructive power of these storms...seeing this, it is amazing that the death toll is so small considering that this hit right at dinner time.

How did this happen. Why didn't the wood break. Luckily no one got hit.

It rips through wooden houses as if they are cardboard. Tornados are scary things. Luckily where I live in Texas (Austin) you don't see too many of them.

I read it's the most intense tornado season on record. Sounds a lot like what many claim to be one of the effects of climate change.
