They had like 3/4 different designs in marketing material, I think design parametres probably arent locked and not sure where the money will come from with J-10 and J-35 acquisitions planned.

Indeed interesting, however I still think it is yet more a fancy placeholder ...

I'm just not seeing the point of PFX as some sort of a fighter between J-10 and J-35.

They could make a single engine stealth fighter. It would be cheaper than the J-35.

One of the pilots turns out to be MastaKhan’s nephew and confirms that J-35 is secretly in service with PAF just to screw with @Deino.

They could make a single engine stealth fighter. It would be cheaper than the J-35.

This would be a checkmate move to the SU-75 program.

1. Switch to CN eng:RD-93 or variants, can switch to CN if RU supply issues.
2. PL-15Es integrated to Block 3s. Earlier variants, not disclosed.
3. Dual Rack PL-15Es: Not disclosed
4. Upg of Is and IIs to partial III - Not priority, too much re-engineering, not worth.
5. Block IVs: Not in pipeline, see below.
6. PFX: Bigger better Block III +
7. HMD for Jeffs: Super expensive, $1m+,

#4 makes sense, especially if PAF is to induct other platforms.

#5 & #6: Bigger better Block III + would automatically mean redesign & that would likely be Block IV in my view. Honestly, this makes little sense. It seems to be an effort to keep people guessing. It is opaque.

#7. HMD, even if it be expensive must be rolled out at least partially. The enemy would be forced to assume that fighters opposing them are equipped with HMD.

I get the pun

Su-75 and PFX are PPT fighters at this point.

Pakistan has no money to help fund the russians or even it's own PFX without a primary partner (even if the production cost of a single enginer Gen5 fighter is cheaper than two enginers fighter).

The only partnership possibilities are Kaan (already a SW partner), J-31 (for assembling knocked-down kits), & Boramae (not likely).

So Pakistan has good reason to put some sweat equity into Kaan (ToT, not fully rely on China, GeoPolitics, etc).
