Are you referring to the Award of Innovative People 2013?

In both reports, Sun Cong was awarded for the work of J-15. There was nothing about FC-31, let alone the designation 歼31.

Then two months later in 2015, websites began to insert 歼31 into the event.

CCTV-1 and AVIC outlets are official although some times they make mistakes. The rest are no more than ordinate fans.

Apparently a new photograph of a J-35 undergoing flight test. Because the last number on the horizontal tail has been wiped off, so it is unclear what number is the J-35 prototype.

Just found it too, but not only the deleted final digit is interesting, even more for the first time the pitot probe is missing.


So, either this is a new prototype or a modified one.

Well, I slowly indeed get this feeling similar to the Flanker news, which were all (surely deliberately) leaked AFTER my book was published, but I'm pretty sure I'm totally un-interesting for the security services or the PLA since there are many more important OSINT, SIGINT and true intelligence guys around! I'm just a strange German with some nerdish interst in numbers.

Does anyone know if there is a PLANAF squadron for an operational testing and evaluation squadron?

J-35 better have good nozzles cooling, structures are not hiding them. When we see the j-20 from the sides, we don't see the nozzles at all, tail and ventral fins hide them all, probably reducing IR signature a lot.
