Given the way modern aerial warfare is trending, where emphasis on networking and BVR as the highest yield improvements on combat efficiency, as well as equipping fighter aircraft with advanced 360 degree EO/IR MAWS or EO-DAS type systems, the importance of physically turning one's head backwards to physically see the rear aspect of one's aircraft with mk 1 eyeball, is significantly reduced.
What is the advantage of blocking the rear view though.
So, looking at this picture more closely, the nose landing gear is clearly consistent with the J-XY/35 in terms of door/hinge arrangement, and there seems to be a chin mount for the EO-IRST sensor as well.
There looks like a white catapult launch bar on the nosegear, which corresponds with J-XY/35, but due to the blur and poor image quality it looks a bit thicker than it actually is.
There is a small white antennae looking thing at the bottom of the hump on the dorsal side, but that again may just be a reflection of poor image quality.
Overall, if this image is real, it likely represents the first picture we have of the J-XY/35 painted in something that might be close to a service livery.
I'm not sure if this is what @Interstellar refers to as news, or if this image might be part of something else of greater significance.
