Video without background music, bit howlish sound on the engine, bit of smoke.

Also, is it the lighting or the actuators got smaller compared to J-20?

Actuators are inside the wing root. Even though there appears to be two flaps it is there to accommodate for the wing folding, not because they are controlled separately.

No, because there is no separate acuators for the ourboard section of the flaps.

Do you mean that the control system filter actuate them jointly (such as fly by wire) in some way given some control input, or that the actuation is actually mechanically/electrically linked ?

Actuator takes space, if there is no big bump on the wing for the outboard sction, there is no acuator to control it. FC-31/J-35 do not have magical advancement over any other stealthy fighter to have two actuators installed in the wing root to control both the inboard and outboard flaps.

Actuation for wing flap is always hydromechanical which takes a large volume and can not be concealed in a thin wing (backend) edge. That is why the bulge on J-20 and F-22, also the lack of the bulge on J-35 and F-35 due to wingroot installation. This shouldn't be a surprise.
