Haven't truly been following J-15 and quite frankly all the Chinese flankers.

With the serial number 92 spotted, does it mean there are 92 frames of J-15 in various variants, including losses? or is there a gap?

J-15 -- single seat, original version??
J-15T -- CATOBAR versions??
J-15S -- two seater.
J-15D -- EW version.

Am I missing any other variant? A list of J-15 variants would be nice. Not working for CIA or something lol

Found this photo of the most heavily armed J-15s I've seen airborne. Foreground aircraft has "YJ-12" visible on one of the missiles. Thought previously that YJ-12 was for H-6 and JH-7 only.

This is a CGI.

The logo in the top left corner is from 高山, who produces some of that most high quality PLA CGIs out there.

This particular CGI is one that is nearly a decade old, from memory.

Upon a second look how did I miss that. "CG" written right in the top left corner. CG really has come a long way, got the heat imperfections on the nozzle and everything.

Reverse image search found earliest image in 2015, so approx 7 years ago. Don't think J-15S two seat would have been in service then either.

Interestingly eng.mod.gov.cn used it as a thumbnail for a recent video on 2022/06/21.
I always regard Gao Shan as a Chinese government approved CG artist/leaker. In the past, he was able to make detailed CGs on Y20, J16 etc before clear detailed photos were released. Thus I am not surprise that Chinese government agency is using his CG before the clear detailed photo of J15S is cleared for release to public.

His works are certaintly not fanboy art. His CGs are not 100% accurate but then that's the way PLA wants, they won't show all details until the aircraft shows up in Zhuhai Airshow (if it ever show up).
