From Henri K blog the graduation lot got bigger 12 instead of 6. China now has enough pilot and J15 for 2 squadrons
A new class of at least 12 J-15 pilots yesterday obtained the certificate of fitness for successful landing on the aircraft carrier 16 Liaoning. It is a priori the 12th promotion since 2009, with the particularity that the pilots have been trained and not "transformed".

One thing worth to note is that according to a report accompanying this photo the latest batch of CV pilots are trained from Navy aviators unlike previously selected from experienced PLAF pilots (experimental process). It means now the certification of CV pilots are run as a regular routine by PLAN.

The newest IR missile modelled in DCS is the AIM-9M, first made in the early 80s. If you think WVR air battles of today (on the rare chance they ever happen) will be fought like that of DCS, you are greatly mistaken.

Yes, and the last 'true' WVR dogfights were in 2000 between Ethiopia and Eritrea. Even then it involved missiles only, no gun kills (except for an unconfirmed shootdown of an unarmed MiG-29UB with a 30mm cannon), while gun battles in the game are still common (because of limitations of the missiles)

If the game adds in modern WVRAAMs such as R-74, AIM-9X, and PL-10, then logically modern BVR missiles would also have to be included such as the AIM-120D, Meteor, PL-15, etc. Pretty much all classified and would make WVR engagements (outside of planned WVR dogfights) basically a non-occurrence.

Yeah, no, in case you didn't know the sentences in the last post in blue were that as a moderator. This is a thread about J-15, not about DCS or the validity of different simulators and games in extrapolating real world performance and outcomes.

Regrettably there is no need to refute you, because as I said before, further posts in this thread about this topic will be deleted, and you will be warned as well if you try to push it further.

If you or anyone else wish to specifically discuss and debate the validity of simulators and games in extrapolating real world performance and outcomes, you should make an entirely different thread for it. But not this thread.

Previously, the first team of rookie naval aviators directly recruited from high schools being trained by the navy, successfully completed carrier take off and landing operations. Under this new navy-led carrier aviation training program, created the most numerous team of naval aviators being trained, with youngest average age, least amount of flight hours, and shortest term in active military service to date, breaking historic records.

New video showing the ground based carrier training program and what it take to become carrier pilot It show night training as well. China carrier program is maturing and is wide based

Go straight to the training ground: How difficult is it to be a carrier fighter pilot? Don't go away! A rare exposure of the J-15 carrier-based aircraft landing training screen! |Military fan world
