How can I? You've got a gun to my head - I'm too nervous! 
Seriously though, I'm not sure I have any great ideas. Though could you possibly change the colour scheme? The blue's ok, but I don't like they light brown background. Can you try out some options?

Well, members are encouraged to upload pictures over at DefenceTalk and then link them back here using the BBcodes that are generated in image view area (the pics are auto rezied and only medium pictures which size from few KBs are linked back). You can find over 2,000 categories to upload the weapon of your choice.

I agree on the pictures other than the obvious problems with copyright material. I run a 4000 member, 350K post vB (entirely different non-mil subject) which I am now adding a vBAdvanced nee Photopost Gallery for my members to post and store pics - I see you are running it on the other site. Also, obviously, you've added a few hacks from vb.org, anything else over there that you like?
The tan is not all that appealing with the blue... Not bad but just not quite right..

Many pictures being linked are from MoD/DoD sites so at least copyright isn't an issue with those. But if you own pictures and upload it, you don't lose the copyright for it just because it is on DefenceTalk.
vB.org is a huge website and a great resource and there are tons of things that a community can use. I am very picky so I only implement maybe 10% of the stuff that shows up there.

screen name colors inflicts the status or some sort of rank of you have in this forum. For example Dark blue is for admin., Dark red for super moderators, red for normal moderators, blue for vip members, plae blue for those who post two much, and other colors depending your posting ammounts.
