Oh kool

By the way, if anyone here has a P320X please post your thoughts. If you can compare it with a Glock 19 gen 4/5 that would be great

Be sure to post pictures if possible! I want to see those flexing their guns.

This was my kit: HK MR223 (civie 416) and an RIA 1911 (in 9mm)

I sold both last year... worst timing ever lolz =/

As soon as this corona episode is over, i'm re-gearing man... everything good is sold out for now.

Very nice Moshin, I've had to sell a few myself, and some I still miss, but you had some solid platforms there. I love the 1911, its still a very solid platform for target and defense, there are lots of nice guns on Gun's International, Gun's America, even the Gun Broker... You will have to make arrangements to send it to your gun dealer and pay him a transfer fee, around here its 25 dollars, could be up to 100 depending on your FFL...

Or you might find something locally, or you can have something built for you??

How did you like that HK MR223??

Man! Talk about bad timing... Needless to say, you shouldn’t have sold your toys. Then again, even if you wanted to sell them, now would be a better time. you’ll get a much better price, with everything out of stock. I ordered another S&W M&P 9mm about a month ago and it got backordered. This was before all the craziness started...

So awesome! It will be so much fun chatting about our favorite toys!!

Yes, the first M&P that I shot was a compact .40, and I was very impressed, but I wanted a 5 inch gun with a thumb safety for the farm. It runs like a freight train.

Yes, but this will soon blow over and our friend will be back in business, you too might consider Davidsons, Grab-a-Gun or similar distributers, there are lots of guns out there, or as in my case, I had to be patient, but Davidsons has a gun locator, and they also have a system to ship to the FFL of your choice... So is your wifey trying to take your M&P away brother???

I loved both of these babies. The 1911 is clunky as hell, but somehow it still has the best 'feel.' And the HK, man... that's just precision German engineering. Nothing 'clinks.' Everything fits exactly. The downsides are that:

1) the recoil is higher (because of the piston)
2) it's heavier than a regular AR.
3) The factory pistol grip kinda sucks (I replaced it) although the newer versions may have fixed this issue
4) And of course, its expensive

But if your primary usecase is to have an apocalypse rifle (in NATO countries, where 556 and AR parts are abundant), the upsides are worth it. You don't have to clean/oil it at all if you don't want to. You also wont have to worry about replacing the barrel. I never pushed it that far, but I read somewhere that this guy put 30K rounds through this thing, without ever cleaning or oiling it, and even after 30K rounds with the original barrel, he only noticed a slight drop in accuracy.... that's insane.

As for replacements, I'm in Canada and most American sites dont ship internationally, plus it's less of a hassle to get it locally because of the registration process. At this point, it's better to just wait till stocks replenish here... which will probably take at least half a year now I think.

I know rite? It sucks! BTW, when you get your M&P please post a review here. I'm in the market for a Glock 19, but I'm considering alternatives before I commit.

We own an M&P now. We are just buying a second one. My first handgun is a Glock 19, which I used to love. But my wife hates it and complains that her hands hurt every time when she shoots the Glock. We spent a long time searching a handgun that would fit her. We first thought she would need a small gun because of her small hands. But the recoil was a big issue for her. Then we tried an M&P owned by a buddy of ours. My wife absolutely loved it. So we immediately bought one. It took me a while to get over the fact that Glock 19 is the king of concealed carry. I have to admit that I shoot better with the M&P. My grouping is better with the M&P. Finally, I sucked it up and admitted to my wife that the M&P might be better for me... So I decided to purchase another one just like the one my wife has. Unfortunately, my new toy got backordered... My wife is warning me to stick with my Glock and not to mess with her M&P...

Having shot both Glock 19 and M&P extensive, I have to say they feel similar. If you blindfold me, I'm not sure if I can tell which is which (except for the texture of the grip). then again, I may have insensitive hands... One thing though. Somehow with Glock 19, I tend to pull the gun slightly when I squeeze the trigger. With the M&P, I don't do that and simply squeeze the trigger. The gun range owner actually shot slow mo videos of me pulling the trigger using both guns. I distinctly pull the gun down slightly only with the Glock. We don't know why I do that only with the Glock... Both of them have almost identical trigger pull weight, about a little over 5 Ibs ( we actually measured it).

One little complaint about the M&P is its grip. The texture is very rough. It becomes a little uncomfortable when you spend a long time shooting. However, it has a narrower neck and shorter distance between the trigger and the handle. So I might be able to grip it tighter. That actually might be why I get better control of the pistol when I squeeze the trigger. Don't know...

With that being said, what works for me may not work for you. Most people still favor Glock 19...
