The demand for Helicopter is enormous I guess first priority is Anti Sub heli And with that many ship being built They will be hard pressed to keep up. Which shipyard is this Hudong Zhonghua?

I would expect the following air wing

6 x attack helicopters naval Z10
4 x SAR helicopters Z9D
6 x transport Z18
4 x AEW the Z18J
4 x ASW the Z18F
And 4 x Z8C new one also called Z8CJ

28 helicopters

A totally new fleet of rotary wing needs to be established for 4 x LHD

That’s over 100 helicopters

I think one reason the PLAN has for not manufacturing a lot of helicopter models in quantity is that they expected those models to be replaced in the near future with other types. Once they do settle on a design they think it is good enough they manufacture it. Like the Z-10.

I do think the Chinese would have been better off designing a twin engine helicopter to replace the Z-8. Either by licensing a design or making their own. Look at the Mi-38 as an example. It has more performance than the triple engine Z-8 and it is twin engine so it should be a lot cheaper to produce. I think the Z-18 is a dead end.

I think Z18 is a great

Just need it in decent numbers

CV-16 has been sailing for 7 years and we only ever seen a hand full of Carrier designated rotary wing, not serial production

They need serial production

They need 100 helicopters for 4 LHD

This is a helicopter carrier, without helicopters it will be transporting dead horses like the Type 726 LCAC

I think they would carry 8-12x Z10. And I wonder about the drone complement, both UAVs and UUVs.

Air cover
Transport
Anti submarine
Search and rescue

Amongst others
Then your composition can achieve none of them, because it doesn't carry enough helicopters of particular types.
Focus it, the whole point of all carrier vessels is their flexibility, and ability to freely change airwing setups.

His proposed airwing composition may not be perfect, but it directs to the perception of the common threat that these vessels will need to face in most of the scenarios the are intended to encounter. You get a sense of it once you've been following sino military developments for a while.
The main goal for the LHD will be to provide comprehensive defensive from the Blue forces, not direct attack, infiltrating action incase you consider the letters 'L'(landing) or 'D'(dock).
These capabilities will be used at a more later stage, after the respective threat area has been diluted enough of the invader force, to create tactical stronghold of an area.
The most important area to focus will be strengthening rotary squadrons to deter sub surface threats and to provide assault capablities for unconventional target suppression.

You obviously have no understanding of naval aviation
