Females in Chinese Military Service

Gentlemen, sorry but I disagree with Women in Army Combat Roles.. There are of course Amazon Women (BIG & STRONG) who volunteer for such roles but they must be the exceptions NEVER the rule in any military. Women in the Military can be utilised for other important duties e.g. cyber warfare, operating drones, intelligence, security, research, medical etc. etc. When I was a mobilised naval officer during the hostilities in the mid-1960s (NOT Vietnam), our mobilised women naval reservists played important duties manning radar stations along the coastlines as there were several enemy infiltrations; they were also good in communications & manning operations rooms during that time. They all were women volunteers who did fantastic & important operational jobs. For the Navy & Air Force, maybe OK for women to serve on warships and as pilots of aircraft & helos. My opinion is that AVOID using them in Army combat roles. Reasons: (1) physically most women are not as strong as men (2) women (unless the few are conditioned and hardened) are very likely to be emotional during battle situations, unlike fighting army men-soldiers (3) Males soldiers have the natural tendency to protect their female comrades during fire-fights with the enemy and may not be focused on fighting & (4) There will BIG problems when women are captured by the enemy - rapes etc. I rest my case, anyway I am used to be called a damn "Male Chauvinist Pig" by a US Women Army Officer about 8-10 years ago when this was discussed in the blog ;)))))))

I think a major issue with females in combat roles is unit cohesion. Mixed sex combat squads are just that much more complicated to maintain cohesion. Could it work? Sure, with better training and education, but the question is, why? If we think of a combat unit as a machine, why would we want to make the parts more complicated? What benefit would we derive from this additional complication?

I understand this for China, and I guess I'm OK with that, I understand it for Israel, caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, but for us, I have no problem with women who want to serve and are capable, but women with children need to be home with their children in the evening, and have the freedom to be Momma. The family here in Central Obamastan is a mess, the kids are a mess, and have been in trouble. I particularly had trouble with one of the boys being mean to my daughters???

We worked through that, and he's actually a good kid, just unsupervised and kinda angry?? Sorry for being blunt, but I have very strong feelings about this, one young lady from our present church, joined the military and while she was in Iraq, became pregnant and went to the local crisis pregnancy center while she was home on leave?? She ultimately had an abortion, rather than dealing with the fall-out of becoming pregnant while deployed???

It was her life her body her choice. Either way it wasn't an easy thing to do.

I was far off topic, and probably the mods should just delete my posts....you know who I am and where I'm coming from, our whole nation is a mess isn't it. I remember a time when families kept you safe, from conception to natural death, that is God's plan. Each person has worth and value, its non-negotiable, our little song is Red and Yellow, Black and White, they are precious in His sight?

anyway, I am not for sexually "sorted" units in the military, and men and women working together in a military organization are going to have "feelings" for one another, not saying that's wrong. They can no doubt be an effective fighting force, as these pictures show, now many of these pictures are "staged", to make a point, I am concerned, because I am a product of the US military, I have an "issue number" stamped on my right butt cheek, and NO, you can't see it!

Among the Chinese peacekeepers stationed in Mali, a war-torn and impoverished West African country, 19 of them are female medical workers. Their daily life in the country has been captured on camera.

Well well well! - just look at the news of recent scandalous sexual harassments in the US Marines!! The number of cases not reported, or have come into the open for ALL national Armed Forces were probably never publicised. "Keep women safe in the Military in safe jobs". By Jove, most of us should know that Men are generally no Angels, more so when they have the opportunity to fraternise and take sexual advantage .... BTW, some women in the military can also be flirtatious thereby inviting "trouble". I don't mind being called an old fashioned chauvinistic pig etc. if this means I believe in the morale, efficiency and effectiveness of any Armed Forces, without the unnecessary "distractions". Cheers!
