Thales launches its new Radar Electronic Surveillance system VIGILE DPX at Euronaval 2012.
Thales is launching its new Radar Electronic Surveillance system VIGILE DPX for worldwide export at Euronaval 2012, International Naval Defence and Maritime Exhibition in Paris, France. VIGILE DPX is a revolutionary system offering multi-signal capability which means high-power signals cannot mask threats and other signals of interest.

Ships sailing close to shore can experience difficulties with radars, due to reflections from the landmass and interference from the greater density of radar traffic. VIGILE DPX, the latest member of Thales’s VIGILE family of products, addresses this problem through a Wideband Digital Receiver1 that directly samples the full bandwidth of the radar RF spectrum instantaneously.

I still have to compile a video interview with the naval architect of SMX-26 but I am waiting for some extra CGI from DCNS.

I am running on barely no sleep, the week has been very intense.

I still have to write a piece and post pics of a slightly updated (again) Type 26 design.

Huntington Ingalls was there too, so I thought about Jeff and Popeye and took a bunch of pics of their FFG designs.

I'll rework the pics gallery because it is a bit messy right now. But first I need to rest a bit

DCNS presented an export version of its FREMM Frigate and its Gowind range at Euronaval

At Euronaval 2012, a FREMM model was shown for the first time fitted with Oto Melara's 127/64 Light Weight main gun and with a Rheinmetall Millenium gun on top of the helicopter hangar. The presence of these new (for the class) weapons on the model is an indication of DCNS' expertise in weapon systems integration, as well as the adaptability of the SETIS combat management system.
