Mind boggling how much the Chinese navy has transform in just one decade... Like the difference is almost night and day.

Just 15 years ago, I was thinking Chinese navy was so ass backwards brown water coastal power, and now it's the largest blue water navy on earth with ships that are most advanced on earth (EMAL CATOBAR). It's almost science fiction the pace of progress!

That is true but considering they have to face combine US, Japan and EU navy in contingency over Taiwan still not enough . they should increase those defense budget to 2.5% percent of GDP

Largest number of vessels yes, but they still have far to go before surpassing the US navy in ocean going ships.

An update from November.

Edit: Deleted. I didn't see the same image had already been shared before because the embedded Twitter post that contained the said image had failed to load. I'm getting pretty sick and tired of these directly embedded posts from Twitter. They are finicky, and they slow down page rendering, most especially when several of them are on the same page.
