I am sure PLAN will not let you down and will take note of your comment and build a second

By building another CV of the same design, at the same time, will drive costs lower. All the engineers and technicians involved are now familiar with the design.

For the second yes, but building them at the same time is double waste of time.

Instead of one you need to rework two structure/ machine. And not only one, but two unit idle during modification / redesign.

CV-16 and CV-17 form the STOBAR carriers with 24 x J15 each

CV-18 and CV-19 form the CATOBAR carriers with 36 x J15B each

CVN-20 and CVN-21 form the super-carriers with 48 x J35 each

Total naval aviation 216 fighters

China should aim for

6 x Carrier Strike Groups (CSG) and 3 x Amphibious Ready Groups (ARGs)

Enough to have 1 x CSG and 1 x ARG deployed globally anytime 24/7

not necessarily, HII was awarded a double carrier contract in Jan 2019 to build CVN-80 and CVN-81, the block contract was worth $15.2 billion

block orders reduce cost and increase supply chain throughout the industries

there is no reason why China can't do the same and do a block contract for construction of two carriers simultaneously

That is the fourth and fifth carrier, not the first and second.

Of course it depends on the complexity of the ship, if it contain only proven/low risk systems then who cares , but in the case of new development ordering more than one is a high risk activity.

The US has been doing this type of thing for a long time.

That way they get the:

USS John F. Kennedy, CVN-79, which will launch in the next year
USS Enterpriae, CVN-80 which will launch in late 2024.
the "Unnamed" USS CVN-81, which will launch around 2029.

They could launch every four years easily enough, but with the complexities of all f the new cutting edge things they are doing with the Ford class, they are willing to add an extra year to each in order to have the time to get it right.

...and they will. These carriers are goiong to be able to launch more aircraft faster and with well over 1000 fewer personnel on each.

Over the life of each, they expect to save 4-6 billion dollars in operating costs, or about 1/2 pf the cost of the carrier itself.

...and I hav no doubt that they will do so.

There is no doubt China can do the same thing.
