Those images ARE better for measurements of hangar width but I am still getting fairly small numbers. One image yielded 26.6 m, while other, blurrier one, yielded 28 meters of width. I don't think the error in measurement could be very big anymore, though.

So i do think this carrier is going to have at least some sections of its hangar at that, fairly narrow figure of 26 to 27, maybe 28 meters of width. That doesn't mean, of course, most of the hangar won't be broader. Nimitz's hangar is visibly tapered, narrower both at its end and its beginning.

Attached here is nimitz hangar drawing. Compared to the widest point, the width at the dashed red line (leftmost yellow line) is roughly 28 meters wide.

Assuming the section we see on the 003 ending pretty much where that same line is on the drawing, just in front of the rear elevator, and assuming similar taper in hangar, it may mean the 003 hangar at its widest may reach over 32 meters in width. That's conjecture, of course, but it's still plausible, depending on exact shape of the whole ship.
Wouldn't this mean that Nimitz's hanger bay has paper thin walls?

The drawing is wrong.
I would love to use the correct drawing, if possible, for greater accuracy. Could you provide it?

For example, there's also this drawing, made after a scale model. How accurate is it - hard to say. It is, however, slightly different from the above drawing.

Look at page 13 of this PDF, should be correct:

Thanks. I've looked into that PFD before but discarded that particular drawing as seemingly with less details. As if the lines of the hangars were possibly just added as a rough sketch. (I thought the fact it does come from a .mil source doesn't have to mean much in itself)

But anyway, I'm happy to work with another source. So using that drawing, and getting these pixel values, nimitz v2 hangar.png
I am getting roughly 30 meter width in between the red and orange lines. If that section corresponds to the end of 003 module we're seeing, and IF 003 follows the same lines of the hangar, then the hangar width at its broadest point might be between 29.5 and 30 meters.

Way, way too many IFs there of course, coupled with a still inadequate photo resolution. But I hope in the coming months we will perhaps see some more modules and perhaps get to see them in even higher resolution.

Edit: Twix101, that's a great find and a good source. That should pretty much be it, then ,confirming the pdf outline as well.
