Good video.
Very slick video. I was watching a similar promo for the Indian Navy

and noticed that the Indians do not use blast deflectors when launching their fighters from the INS Vikramaditya. What effect would that have on sortie generation given the necessity to keep other aircraft well away from the launching aircraft's engine exhausts?

It must be the aircraft type. Videos on board the Admiral Kuznetsov also show that jet deflectors are raised behind the Su-25 and Su-33, but not behind the MiG-29.

The apparent lack of jet blast deflectors on the INS Vikramaditya has been noted ever since its commissioning. The explanation for its absence on the back launch position is reasonable - jet stream will just face towards the edge and the sea. But the lack of one on the forward short launch position is puzzling - there is definitely enough room for one, and it would have pretty big benefits if the position is used regularly. One explanation on the Indian defence forum is that it is more of an emergency position and not to be normally used. That said, I haven't seen any recent info on whether JBD has been installed - could very well be the case.
