Good insights into some Chinese tradition & ceremony. China has a very Long history, & its philosophers/wise ancient sages Like Confucius, Lao Tzu et al continue to be highly respected. So too are the brilliant warrior generals like Sun Tzu (500BC) whose “Art of War” is still studied in Asian & Western Military Academies. Respect for tradition makes a nation and its people cultured & great.

This guy nailed his analysis of the Chinese Jian. This is a kind of sword by nature of its design, originally invented for well armored soldiers holding shields, not unlike a Roman Legionaire with his Gladius or Spatha with a shield. Very different from its portrayal in martial arts movies.

I think it's quite appropriate to post here of all the Chinese artefact cuminating in 2000 years of traditions and culture that was looted by the British after sacking Beijing with 7 other bandit countries.

It is currently residing in the British museum, the biggest collection of illegal loot in the world!

I had a rougamo last week that used an what appeared to be an English muffin as a bun. There was cornmeal on it...

Forgivable shortcut, or culinary crime?
Forgiveable outside of China or a major city where unleavened bread is hard to get. Inside of China, that's a crime.
