Talk about wrong priorities, we should had invested in 14nm to 28nm and above FABS instead of leading edge 5nm and 3nm. Sometimes being behind had its benefit or the gods really favored China being an Atheist country...LOL

China silicon wafer maker Zingsemi to grow monthly capacity to 1 million by 2025

China-based Zing Semiconductor is expected to see its monthly production for 12-inch silicon wafers ramp up to one million pieces by 2025 from the current level of 250,000, according to company chairman Wei Li.


I don't know, but it seems to me there is an inconsistency between this piece of news and the following:

According to the second article, in July, China was manufacturing about one billion chips per day, or about 203.6 billion from January to July.

Digitimes is saying that Zing Semiconductor is producing 250,000 wafers per month. Let's assume there are 1.000 chips per wafer (rough guesstimate), their production is enough to produce 250,000,000 chips per month.

If this is correct, they will need 4 (four) months production to meet the needs of China for a SINGLE DAY.

There must be something wrong there.

This machine is for advanced packaging like Chiplets, 2.5D IC or even 3D ICs if i am not mistaken. A way to extent Moore law.

The specified 60 x 60 mm image size with 100 nm resolution is really insane. The racists and haters might dismiss this as "low resolution" but they are usually non technical hacks. Those who aren't blinded by ideology recognize that this is a huge deal.

Yes EUV might have 18-20 nm resolution or whatever but what is the image size?

60 x 60 mm is 3600 mm2, more than 4x the area patterned at once. That means it can pattern the entire substrate for multiple chips, or even, for example, direct pattern an I/O chip at say 180 nm into the packaging and have 7 nm chips directly integrated with the I/O chip. It makes entirely new architectures possible.
