There won't be 30-40 years left due to incoming damage done as the direct result of this election. There will be 3-4 years left for unification after the just-elected toxic executive branch escalates their provocations 10 times over under the orders of the US.

And yes DPP is losing votes, but it's quite normal in any of the so-called democracies for leading parties to simply lose more votes the longer they are in power, it's called voter fatigue or something like that. You probably live in the EU, so you should know this.

Judging from that, DPP is holding quite strong for their 3rd term, 7% lead over the second-placed party, after this many years. Only the KMT in the past century had such continuity in power in Taiwan's history right after their "founding".

There is literally ZERO hope for peaceful reunification, now, or 200 years in the future, as long as the US/CIA/DPP holds all the Taiwanese media, education system, the election process, political establishment, etc. They simply can brainwash people and do political machinations however they like to achieve whatever results they like. The Taiwan (and US) question will be resolved within 3-4 years.

I don't see the Taiwan issue being resolved in 3-4 years.

I think it has finally gotten through to the upper echelons of the Taiwanese government that they will be blockaded and would lose a war.

Such a conclusion will become more widespread amongst the population with time. At the moment, the average Taiwanese person thinks the US can easily save them. So the choice is to be become angry or begrudgingly accept this reality.

And as time goes on, it will be increasingly hard to avoid Chinese influences.

From which American and who's publication? Can you provide the author and publication behind the paper? We have to be sure we're not inadvertently posting links that are actually Trojan horse for malwares etc. We trust people here enough that we maybe able to drop our guards down.
For some reason I was stupid enough to click on the link. To save everyone the hassle, it is a stupid 2 page handout that is less info than what chatgpt or wikipedia can provide. Not sure why it is worth posting on this thread.

This is how Ukraine war matters. its cliched but the assertion that America's failure to save Zelensky may be seen as a harbinger of how Taiwan unfolds. no matter the rhetoric of how important it is to intervene, when it comes to decision time one will always have second thoughts about starting a fight against another nuclear power, when that potential opponent is fighting for something for which it is willing to give everything.
