Showed my mother this series, she had plenty of criticisms of it about how they get the era's mannerisms (speech, thought process, behaviours, etc.) wrong and added fake subplots to entice today's modern audience. One example she pointed out was for Yu Ming the guy working on the hydrogen bomb was studying ENGLISH to go abroad. In the 1960s when the PRC and USA/UK had no diplomatic relations  Also, back during that time you didn't have the ability to apply to go abroad for study, the government if they considered you a talent to grow would select you to go overseas. The director was born in 1979 though so he wouldn't have known personally what it was like to live back then but the attention to detail towards historical authenticity is low, to put it mildly.
The Liyannian/korean war part of the show is great tho, in terms of cinematograph, it is better than domestic movie studio productions.

Chinese netizens speculating if another actor got into trouble with the law.
They did give an official reason lol. If it was really for a yet unknown scandal they probably will phrase it differently.

Oh Zhou dongyu is in it. She is in the news recently but that's more dating rumours kind, definitely not something to postpone the release date.
