Sorry, but then I don't understand your issue. ... where is there a rule that forbids to post a quote from another forum and discuss it here?

@Interstellar might be better to answer that question, if my suspicions are right.

Well, the forum is in Chinese, so I'd have to provide a translation, and I don't speak Chinese. Or, it's the difference between link and post the link, the certain important part as a quote and your own thoughts or conclusions. Ultimately it's about the arbitrariness of some of the rules and (much more) about the selective enforcement from the moderators.
Just to clarify, here only the forum refers to cjdby and the mentions of rules, moderators and various actions are all about SDF.

Like I tried to say above, it's the difference between linking and linking, translating and "providing your thoughts". Regardless of whether I could do that, I won't.

Then I don't understand your point! You say you know something from another forum, but you neigher will give the link, post a quote, a translation or your thoughts, you refer to certain rules and moderstors, which forbid to post it, none of which I know and still to pretend to not tell us anything?

Then why mentioning it in the first place??

Basically he’s saying that because we’ve asked him before to post with translations, have complained before about the quality of machine translations, and he doesn’t want to ask others for help with translating, he’s not going to post the link.

Largely correct.

Ultimately it's about the arbitrariness of some of the rules and (much more) about the selective enforcement from the moderators.
Isn't it sort of amusing that the only kind of content that needs a justification on SDF is posting a link to something, whether that's a regular news article or something from a Chinese forum?

It's really not that amusing.

If anyone is posting an article or a social media post, especially if it is in another language, it is about etiquette and practicality for an original copy of the original language content to be pasted here as well, preferably with a link so people don't have to go around to search for it themselves if they want further context or further followup to a forum post or otherwise.

If anything is amusing or confusing, it is the motivation or reasoning for why it is important to avoid posting the original source so that everyone can easily access it and/or translate it for themselves, which one thinks might be conducive for greater ease of disseminating information and promoting discussion.

What's interesting regarding the "6 BVRAAM" issue for J-20 is that in yankee's most recent paid subscription article, he does strongly say such a missile exists.

Out of respect for the fact that he is providing a paid service, I won't directly screenshot it nor copy the text (I'm unable to do so anyhow), but the link to the article is here:
Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!

Summarizing what he wrote, he states that a new BVRAAM that will enter service with J-20 has a similar range to PL-15 but smaller diameter, and greater ability to target stealth aircraft, and also that the kinematic properties of this new missile is designed to emphasize greater ability to target and maeneuver to stealth aircraft at medium to short ranges.

He seems quite convinced that this new 6 BVRAAM in J-20's weapons bay is real and at least imminent.

If the emphasis is on maneuverability in mid to short range that might imply a ramjet motor, which would line up with the notion of a Sino-Meteor.

This is not particularly clearly written, but it doesn't matter anyway. The mods can continue to run the forum as they like, with as many double standards as they can fit in. Everyone can see there's an overabundance of relevant submissions so nonsensical limitations on them should be kept. The translation situation on SDF remains particularly hilarious.

in yankee's most recent paid subscription article
Better late than never, I guess.
