While it is pretty clear that the Y-20 has better avionics compared to the IL-76, i wonder how the flight profile of the Y-20 compare to that of the IL-76.

Y-20 also appear to have significantly lower floor to ground height compared to il-76, implying easier cargo handling. it also appear to have slightly better downward visibility through the wondscreen.

rather amazed il-76 still kept the glazed bomber nose after all these years.

ive heard that even fully-modernized il-76 will still need a navigator under special occasions because there are parts of russia and the arctic where navigation equiment wont work and the il-76 will have to rely on traditional ground targets and inertial/doppler navigation. However this doesn't really make sense because while its true that some places can have no radar or radio stations gps/glonass/beido is supposed to work around the world, even in the arctic.
