Really starting to wonder where he’s getting his info.

I think he's one of the spotters often lurking around the Chengdu-area and since both the CAC facility and the 4th Division are based in that area he picks up such info ... regrettably he only posts cartoons instead of real photos.

There maybe be scores of Y-20 but I would like to seriously see a MBT in the belly not wait 10 years

Transporting a heavy armoured division is the core of Y-20 programme

A bit like the LCAC and Type 071 LPD

USAF flys MBT around Europe all the time using C-17 and C-5

Those load masters need to start training MBT deployment at long range

Maybe they should demonstrate it by deploying to Djibouti

Transporting an US army heavy brigade would take upward of 500 c-17 flights... So I shudder to think how many y20 it would take to transport a whole pla armored division. Possibly 2000 ish. Generally speaking, air transport is not meant to be used to move around whole armored brigades but smaller units or airborne brigades, which are smaller and have less and lighter vehicles. And of course, majority of c-17 and y20 missions will be transporting pallets full of supplies and/or key components of specialized units.

Air transport of tanks is mostly done just for the occasional unit.
Mostly you want the ability to do it but for en mass you prefer use of a Roll on Roll off container ship. Now the PLA MBT are much lighter then the current Abrams. So if the Y20 is a match for the C17 it could actually pack in more gear with a tank. So a little saving grace.
