Can we have a thread for speculating on future weapons and upgrades?

For example, there is an ongoing speculative discussion in the CIWS thread, in which new members, and just hatched, are speculating, and interacting with senior members of the forum.

In the current situation, a moderator might step in and end the discussion, and it might be enough to lose some of those new members, and get warnings for the senior ones.

Instead, a mod, or a senior member can move or suggest the discussion is moved to the Speculation thread, leaving the actual CIWS thread clean, and providing a great outlet for new members (who don’t know about the speculation rules, for example) to actively take part in the forum immediately.

This is a great way to onboard new members and introduce them to the forum and also teach the (quite strictly enforced) rules.

I believe you are speaking about me, yes it would be nice to have such place. I guess "ask anything" threads or FAQ, or question and answers are the place where i should post. I will do it from now on.

This depends on what is considered speculation. We already have speculative threads such as H-20 and Chinese 6th gen which neither really has much solid, confirmed information to go off on.

I think some level of theory crafting and speculation is acceptable, as long as it is backed by evidence and sound logic.

PLAN will use rail guns to destroy the US - not ok
PLAN currently has xxx display tech for rail gun from this paper/tender document, this is how it could be employed - OK
