It's been a long time coming but I think it's worthwhile now to just express some appreciation for by78's consistent excellent posts of pictures on SDF that are virtually always high quality, and with commentary where appropriate (or request for commentary as appropriate as well).

I think posting pictures to any forum like this is important, and they should preferably be high quality, recent, or relevant to current events.
Or in some cases, if pictures which are excellent and have been lost in the past, posting them again is also very appropriate.

Posting pictures which have been seen before and of poor quality if better quality pictures have been very easily accessible or posted in the recent past, otoh is imo the kind of thing that should be avoided, and I think some posters could benefit from observing the pattern in which by78 contributes to the forum in terms of consistency.

This forum has a couple of "MVPs" for various reasons and categories, and I think by78 is definitely one of them.

SDF features several characteristics to make it unique among the PLA-watch community, include diverse international member community fluent with and access to open-sources info in both English and Chinese, fair-minded moderators and moderating policy, knowledgeable and objective senior members with wide professional reputation and recognition (e.g., @Deino, @Bltizo), regularly and timely updates and high-quality multimedia info, most prominently provided by @by78.

Just adding onto this, there are also members here who do good jobs on conveying and also translating new developments from the Chinese boards for others here when certain boards might have a barrier to access.

I'll add @taxiya to the list. He's always very helpful with accurate translations, especially in the space program thread, among others.

You are too kind. I just translate and speculate (within reason of course) on whatever I find interesting.
