Someone in here, I think it was Vincent, told me to go to Google's Chrome inognito mode and put the link in there. Sometimes it works. Sometimes not.
I wanted to just point out that this article pretty well exemplifies so many core issues on why western strategy on China is fundamentally and critically flawed, which in turn continues to explain why the west keeps getting outplayed by China so very easily strategically.
Pretty much every western article on China by western analysts and ‘experts’ are hilariously copy pasta in that they all need to start off with the standard issue talking points on China not following rules and being ‘expansionist’ and creating strawmen arguments to automatically mirror whatever the west has done wrong on China.
China has been a model citizen when it comes to internationalism and following international laws and rules. Yet because American exceptionalism means they only care about international law when they can use it to attack others with, the article has to also expand American bad behaviour to also apply to China, because as a rule, China must always be worse!
Western fake news on China is so pervasive and widespread that even their own analysts and experts are blithely taking it all at face value and as given, which forms the basic foundation and basis on which all subsequent analysis and policy recommendations are based upon. If that bedrock is pure lies and fantasy, it doesn’t take a genius to see why all conclusions based upon that are unlikely to be correct or work.
At best you end up with solutions to problems that doesn’t exist (trying to get China to follow international law), and at worst, you just end up starting fights with China and discrediting yourself in the eyes of the silent majority because you are attacking China for lies you told about them (Xinjiang genocide is a perfect example).
