With all the excitement of the past 12 months, and with the venomous anti China taken by the Brits, Boris and Raabs, this tweet from Tom Fowdy is a timely reminder on how the Anglo talks with folk tongue.
I'm not sure good this will do, except the feel good factor to see fat Pomp getting sanctioned by China!
I'm more interested in how this gets implemented. The last line says that institutions associated with them will also be targeted. Does this mean that Banks and financial institutions serving him would also be targeted? I hope so. Mike Pompeo being denied banking services, VISA, MasterCard, Amex etc would rock. Afterall every American bank has business in China and none would lose it over few individuals.
But if thats not the case then these sanctions are essentially travel bans to China which frankly is meaningless.

Watch Biden speech look good He said there is truth and there is lie. And He devoted little to foreign policy other than said America is respected not because of power but by example. Overall He show he is decent man and devout catholic but without the fanatism of born again Christian. Generally he concentrate his speech on domestic politic trying to unite the nation. See if he meant what he said and if the republican allow him to realize his agenda which mostly domestic. I believe he try reviving the economy and overcoming pandemic. And united , healing the nation.

Doubt China will go after banks giving Fat Pomp a bank account, too petty and pointless.
How Washington (and many western rule of law democracies) works is that officials cannot take bribes or receive favours while in office, but it’s almost expected that as soon as they leave office they go into a stupidly high paying job to work as a ‘consultant’ or similar nonsense where they don’t really need to do anything, which essentially is just legalised delayed brides.
You do favours for companies while you are in office, and you get your suitcases of money as hyperinflated ‘salaries’ once you are out of office.
What these sanctions does will hit Fat Pomp in the pocket by close down his ability to collect on his ‘banked’ bribes. Since any company that does significant business with China will need to think very very carefully about offering him any jobs or making any donations to his political campaigns, as doing so may well kill their China business. But without giving him a job, they will have a hard time explaining why they are giving him millions of dollars.
Biden is a good person. So is Obama. So is W. The problem is that top POTUS qualifications include competency and courage. Given the fact that it was the black votes that turned around his primary in South Carolina as well as general election, the US politics cannot escape from extreme polarity for the foreseeable future. I feel sad. But this is a democratic process by design. My primary issue with this process is that I don't think the writers of the constitution foresaw the kind of divides that we see now. It was a Christian country then. It is way more diversified now.
No imperialist can be a good person. I really don't understand in what kind of fantasy world some of you are living in.

I don't think banks and financial institution be targeted, but any companies that hires them will be targeted, so essentially this sanction will make them unemployable in the private sector
Maybe only one of those fascist think tanks will hire them lol
