Are there still appeasers in Zhongnanhai who advocate a total hands off approach towards the war in Ukraine and EU-US tensions with Russia/Belarus?
China just need to keep working hard and remain focus on the most important strategic issues that face the country. This recent development is yes a provocation but one that's designed to create and incite an illogical/irrational reaction from the Chinese government to overreact hoping to incite and start a war in the region where China is still not fully ready yet.

I’m afraid so, and I have a feeling that this divide will persist for a long time, almost as if it were deliberately arranged and designed. I find it hard to believe that when Beijing originally planned the Hainan Free Trade Island, it didn’t consider deliberately letting Hong Kong people watch itself decline and fall. As for the competitiveness of the next generation of Hong Kong people, I don’t know. It’s up to their own fate. We say: Hong Kong is governed by Hong Kong people, and it seems that the mainland authorities don’t want to interfere too much.
This attitude is unfortunately the problem.

There is no such thing as HK people, only the country, it's allies and it's enemies. HK should not be governed by the "HK people" anymore than SZ is governed by "SZ people". A decline and fall of HK is a failure for China.

The central government is the sole responsible party when it comes to controlling the city, hiding behind excuses of "letting HK people choose" is the exact reason why far right terrorism has become an issue. Even more pathetic is hiding behind the excuse of "honoring" of treaties with genocidal aggressors, which not only should have no legal power, but they have themselves already broken the treaty by interfering into HK affairs when the deal called for non interference on both sides.

People are the way you treat them. The mainland is at fault for separating itself from HK for too long. Beijing didn't want to show itself mass murdering the cockroaches, but the destruction of Xinjiang terrorism already showed that more humane methods of reformation exist. And even if they have to resort to executions, just look at what's happening in other countries, like US and Israel. Such things happen all the time and are a fact of life. Some people would bitch about it, some people would cheer for it.

Don't trouble yourself with him. He's a cuck of the highest order.

After the whole HK debacle, I'm sure CPC will give Taiwan the Xinjiang treatment once reunification is achieved. The same mistake won't be made twice.

This is what happens when you restrict the presidential term to a single one and ban re-election. The president just ignores popular demand once elected.

The economic and supply chain leg of the US led containment. Everything they pursue today is targeted at the PRC with Japan and Australia as deputy chiefs of US interests in the Asia Pacific.
It's a fool's errand to decouple/contain China at this stage.

You have to live in your own world to believe that the US has real democracy.

Supporting Russia is officially a criminal act in Germany.
Not surprising, considering that Germany would sacrifice their own economy to appease their master:

That is not an option anymore to only concentrate on domestic affairs while foreign affairs continue to cloud darker and darker. That time has passed since 2018. We have entered a new era. Well, I mean that is still an option but will have extreme severe consequences in no time with no allies and more and more countries turning hostile to the PRC. I have said numerous times that I consider the biggest dangers for China this century as the following:

1. Demographics.
2. USA.
3. Climate change.

Half of all living South Korean presidents are in jail. All four of South Korea's alive ex-presidents have been convicted of corruption. At this point, South Korea, Taiwan, are not real governments. They have even less legitimacy than the governments of many so-called third world nations.

A controversial proposal

Chinese landowners in Texas has been effectively killed after failing to meet a critical deadline for discussion in the House.
Senator Lois Kolkhorst's bill initially aimed to prohibit citizens from China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia from owning property in the state, but it was significantly weakened to only ban agricultural and oil leases for individuals from those countries. Despite passing the Senate with support from Republicans and one Democrat, the bill never received a hearing in the House due to Speaker Dade Phelan's cancellation of a session, effectively shutting down the bill and several other Senate proposals.

as the head of China's struggling national basketball league, the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Yao, an eight-time NBA All-Star, had been leading efforts to commercialize the CBA since 2017. The reason for his departure was not specified, but the CBA's website expressed gratitude for his service and mentioned the board of directors' decision for new leadership. Corruption allegations have plagued the league recently, with two teams being ejected from the finals for unsporting conduct. Yao's replacement is Xu Jicheng, a veteran sports journalist with experience in managing major sporting events.
