A few reasons.
One is political, it's better for China to export to the west via a third party than directly.
Pharmaceuticals that India exports don't tend to be high value anyway. It's not just the ingredients. Packaging, capsules, vials and even labelling is all imported from China. India is just the assembly line and gets a tiny cut.
Indians also have a number of advantages over other countries. They have massive economies of scale when it comes to purchasing power - most medications are consumed domestically), and medicine/pharmaceuticals is one field Indians are competent at.
It also gives China a lot of leverage over India. If they get too uppity they can say goodbye to their entire pharmaceutical industry overnight when tariffs are applied.
Doing something like this is something I seriously looked into a few years ago. Unless China blocks exports to India it's not worth it.
Haha, I just believe that our young people can gradually develop immunity to foreign cultures through this kind of ‘communication’. In fact, from my observations, in recent years, this immunity to foreign cultures has indeed been able to spread among the younger generation in mainland China through such means. It wasn’t like this before 2016.
It’s not far from my home, but I haven’t had the chance to ride it yet. Honestly, my city has a penchant for incurring debt to build infrastructure everywhere. Back then, Wuhan was essentially one big construction site with mud and dust everywhere and uneven roads… But despite the complaints, once the painful construction period was over, it all seemed worth it.
Spying is normal and a practice that's been done through the ages. But, what I can't stand with the Americans and the West in general is that for them spying on countries is a right and even a duty to protect their interests and people. Yet, the same principle can't be attributed to their adversaries and rivals like China. Is this the "rules based order" they are trotting out endlessly? What a joke.
