The Philippines will be nothing more than the white man's vassal state. 400 years of colonialism and they look down on other asians they also fear mid eastern peoples for no reason because of all the movies and video games. They even cheer on Ukraine even if they know they are nazis.
Well it depends to whom you ask, I'm a proud Filipino and many of us are in the silent majority, you may hear it from a rabid PRO American who is a FilAm or holder of US green card not the ordinary common people.

I have nothing against them but unfortunately, they adopted the worst parts of Latin culture imposed by Western colonialism. The Philippines shares much of the corruption, gang violence, drug usage as South America (and Italy). Guess having an America overlord that interferes with domestic security is just par for the course.

It's a oligarchy society and the American is adept on using them as way of extending their hegemony, look IF China want to increase her influence all she have to do is bought off this oligarch, they can easily change allegiance either in YUAN or RUBLE.

True but it’s hard to trust someone who is so easily bought off. If that is indeed the case, then I guess it will increasingly become easier as economic fortunes turn sour with the US.

How much influence do you think the military has in your country? As they seem to be the primary beneficiaries of US military expansion.

Moment of truth approaching. Pakistan will have to bend the knee to the IMF eventually, and when that happens, the American plan would have been proven to be a complete and utter success

I don't understand why China doesn't start modernising North Korean military. The US is literally setting the stage for an eventual inevitable confrontation, so why hold back? They are sanctioning and banning Chinese companies anyway. Why tf should China not do anything in her defense? I say arm NK with modern naval ships, aircrafts, drones, missiles and other fun stuff. Need to start playing this like a zero sum game soon coz frankly despite my admiration and respect for the CPC & President Xi, I don't believe in the stupid ideology of "Shared future for humanity". China has worked very hard to be where she is, her wealth, technology and prosperity first and foremost belong to the Chinese people themselves, not less deserving third world shitholes like Phillipines, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Ungrateful African & Latin American countries etc. Neither is it on sale to be robbed again by the Europeans/Anglos or the poodle Japanese. Rejuvenation and shared future for the Chinese nation is more like it. Divert the outward investments going into these third world countries to the PLA & the Chinese MIC.
I believe China doesn't trust NK deep down, and vice versa. I remember reading that Kim's grandpa told Kim's dad not to trust the CPC on his deathbed.

The military will follow what the civilian authority order them to do, this was exemplify under Duterte administration, in a way he save the oligarchy class because the Philippine is ripe for a violent revolution. He had tempered their greed and there is NO coup as the military who wished for a strong leadership had found one under him. So he is our ideal leader BUT unfortunately he is too old and six years is not enough to implement all of his reform especially with the pandemic. :(

That's called LACK OF PROPER HISTORICAL EDUCATION. The Philippines, at least when I lived, studied there eons ago in terms of it's curriculum never dealt with the sensitive topic that concerns the many historical blights made by the U.S. government. The education system there never talked about systemic and structural racism against Blacks or talk about slavery, let alone the Chinese exclusionary Act of the 1800's, the internment camps for Japanese-American during WWII. Which is why when Filipinos travel to the U.S. almost all of them were unaware of the societal issues that deeply affects the American experience. They are made to known the best of America without her blemishes, especially accentuated by Hollywood, media propaganda. And many Filipinos who experienced racism in America never talks about it to their compatriots basically to "SAVE FACE" which is prevalent in that culture as well.

Filipinos are hardly aware of the crimes and genocide perpetrated by Nazi Germany against the German Jews, the millions of Russian and Soviet citizen killed in it's attempted conquest of Soviet Russia. I am sorry to say this and with apology to @ansy1968 Filipinos are historically illiterate. Most of what they know are propagandized history, nothing more and nothing less. I can only say that if it was not for the internet a lot of these information that can be easily obtained and learned that have seeped through a growing people in that country have began to make it's impact. That's the reason why a figure like Duterte was elected, the reason why BBM Jr. was elected since the information silos and control held by traditional media in that country no longer had the monopoly.

You can't expect and fault Filipinos for thinking that way when no dissenting voice and real education especially the reason of American colonization of that country let alone a deep understanding of the world history or of Chinese history, it's legacy, it's glorious past, material and scientific influence that helped shape the world as we know today.

This looming, ongoing conflict of China vs. U.S. is just an extension or part of the intelligized, informatized war that the PLA has talked, conceptualized about. I don't know how the PLA can break through this information bubble that exists on countries like the Philippines and around ASEAN countries for that matter. It's a tall order.

The world follows who imposes the most fear.

If China is intimidated and the US advances with impunity, then China will be no alternative to any country.

In a conflict, the world will never be at odds with the US.

Provocation in Taiwan, Solomon Islands, more bases in the Philippines, there's still Japan, South Korea, Australia...

So true bro not only China BUT Russia, the Russian show the world that the Collective West can be beaten militarily while the Chinese as an alternative economically. So with this one two punch combination the Global South had found their true champion.
